Our story begins 40 years ago
In 1976 Pete had official taken the right hand position at his Father's restaurant which is still situated in the heart of Montreal, located on St. Laurent boulevard. Pete had the opportunity to be mentored by his father who was able to make “The main” become one of Montreal’s best Deli's. After 20 years of working side by side with his father Peter Sr, Pete Jr. decided to venture on his own.
After Leaving “The Main” Peter was up to an challenge and decided to open up his own smoke meat joint in the small town of Ile Perrot. He would call it “Smoke Meat Pete”.
Situated in a basement type style restaurant with very little seating, Pete started putting his passion, talent and expertise to work and was on a mission to make the tastiest smoke meat around. With the help of his Mother and the Three Musketeers which were his Mom's best friends, 4 years later and what Pete would call, working in the dungeon, he was able to get the critics choice award of the #2 best smoke meat in the greater Montreal area.
Now 20 years later, Pete has won many accolades and is considered by many as the Best Smoke Meat in Montreal, arguably even the Province. Now at their current location you can enjoy from a wide variety of dishes while enjoying Live blues 7 nights a week.
