Our story begins 40 years ago
In 1976 Pete was his father's right hand at the Main restaurant, located on St-Laurent Boulevard in Montreal. Pete had the opportunity to be mentored by his father for several years. After 20 years of working alongside him, Pete finally decided to venture out on his own.
After leaving the Main, Pete was ready to challenge himself to open his own smoked meat restaurant which you all know by the name of Smoke Meat Pete, located on Île Perrot.
This type of basement style restaurant with few seats was the start of an adventure. Through his passion, talent and expertise, Pete was determined to make his tastiest smoked meat in the region. Pete was not alone, he had the support of his mother and his mother's 3 best friends who everyone called the Three Musketeers. After 4 years of work, Pete managed to win the ''critics choice award'' for the #2 best smoked meat in the greater Montreal area.
20 years later Pete has received several awards and is recognized by many as being the best smoked meat in the greater Montreal area and perhaps in the province. You have a variety of dishes available at Smoke Meat Pete. In addition, you can enjoy a live blues band, 7 days a week. At Smoke meat Pete, you never know who you might meet, it could be a celebrity or even the Prime Minister, because no one can beat meat smoke from Pete.
